Divisions

Criminal

The County Attorney is responsible for prosecuting all criminal violations of state law that occur within the county. Over 2400 cases were filed in the Warren County District Court in 2021.  These cases are handled by the County Attorney, four Assistant County Attorneys, and six support staff.

Civil

The County Attorney is responsible for providing General Counsel and advising all County Elected and Appointed Officials, Departments, Boards and Committees. This responsibility also includes providing legal counsel and representation to Officials, Departments and their employees in the event a complaint or legal claim is made against the County.  The County Attorney and one Assistant County Attorney work together to handle any civil issues that arise and that may involve the County.

The Civil Division does not and cannot represent private citizens in legal matters.

Juvenile

The County Attorney is responsible for adjudicating all Juvenile Delinquency Cases as well as all Child in Need of Assistance proceedings involving children in Warren County. There were over 100 Delinquency and Child in Need of Assistance cases filed in Warren County in 2021. These cases are handled by the County Attorney and two Assistant County Attorneys.
